Backyard Wedding Restrooms in the Lehigh Valley: Trailer or Flushing Units?
The two questions every couple asks: how many, and does it have to be a trailer? Here is the math for 50 to 300 guests, what a trailer needs from the yard, and how we keep the units out of the pictures.

How many restrooms does a backyard wedding need?
Plan one deluxe flushing unit per 75 guests, multiply by hours ÷ 4 for a 6-hour reception, multiply by 1.25 for the bar and round up once, with one of the units accessible. For 150 guests that is 2 × 1.5 × 1.25 = 3.75, rounded up to 4 units (3 deluxe + 1 accessible). A two-station restroom trailer covers about 150 guests on its own; past 150, pair it with deluxe units for the overflow line.
| Guests | Flushing-unit plan | Trailer plan | Weekend price (units / trailer) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50–80 | 2 deluxe | 1 trailer | $650 / $1,650 |
| 100–150 | 3 deluxe + 1 accessible | 1 trailer + 1 deluxe + 1 accessible | $1,300 / $2,300 |
| 200–300 | 6 deluxe + 2 accessible + 1 hand wash | 2 trailers + 1 accessible | $2,695 / $3,625 |
What does a trailer need that units do not?
A level pad at least 14 by 12 feet that holds a trailer on jacks, a garden-hose spigot within 100 feet, and two 20-amp 110-volt outlets within 100 feet for heat, A/C, lights and the water heater. Deluxe units need none of that: no water, no power, any firm 4-by-4-foot spot, and they fit through a 48-inch gate. That is the whole decision for most backyards.
No power at the pad? A quiet generator is $150 for the weekend. Soft lawn after rain is the one thing that stops a trailer, so we check the pad the week before.
How do you keep the restrooms out of the photos?
We place them behind the tent service wall or around the garage corner, on the side the photographer agrees is dead space, 75 to 150 feet from the tables and upwind of the bar. White deluxe units, not blue. Solar path lights, a floral arrangement on the hand wash station and an amenities basket on the trailer vanity are the three touches that get mentioned in thank-you cards.
When should we book?
Trailers: six to eight weeks ahead for May through October Saturdays, because we run a small fleet and June and October are the Lehigh Valley peaks. Deluxe units: two to three weeks. Delivery is Thursday or Friday and pickup Monday at one weekend price, so the rehearsal dinner is covered too.

Can the trailer be used for a winter wedding?
Each station has a thermostat-controlled heater and the water lines are heat-traced; we run the heat from delivery. For January and February outdoor ceremonies it is the only option we recommend for guests in formal wear.
